IPS stays plugged, explores key issues at The Payroll Group Conference

IPS President John Feaman spent a few days in Hollywood, California earlier this month, attending The Payroll Group (TPG) 2018 Conference.

The annual event brings together similarly-owned small business owners in the payroll industry from the across the country to share experiences and best practices.

“This is our third year as TPG members and we always return from the event with solid takeaways to improve our operations,” says John. “We network with professionals about any question or concern. I can pick up the phone and talk to contacts anywhere in the U.S. who are dealing with the same exact issues we are. That network is what we value.”

This year, John was especially interested in what is trending in payroll with 401(k) and health insurance providers. He’s excited to implement what he learned from the conference to better integrate data with IPS clients.

In addition to the TPG, IPS is also a member of the Independent Payroll Providers of America (IPPA), with plans to attend their annual meeting in the fall. On average, team members at IPS attend two to three industry conferences each year.

“Professional development is extremely important to IPS,” John adds. “It shows we are not stagnant, but continually growing and active, staying on top of changes in the law and more.

The payroll industry is a pretty tight knit group, but bottom line is we want to provide a better product for our customers.”
